Frank Catalanotto Celebrity Softball Game

-oday Frank Catalanotto's Foundation hosted a Celebrity Softball game at Bethpage Ballpark. Frank's team faced off against Boomer and Carton's Softball team.
Frank Catalanotto born and raised in Smithtown was drafted in the 10th rd rd in 1992 by the Tigers and played for 14 seasons in the major leagues with the Tigers 1997-1999, Rangers 2000-2002 & 2007-2008, Blue Jays 2003-2006, Brewers 2009 and then came home and played briefly with the Mets in 2010. Frank's best season was in 2001 when he batted 0.330 and won the AL Batting Title and finished his career with a 0.291 avg

The Boomer and Carton host a radio show on NY's local ESPN radio station.
Boomer Esiason is also from Long Island and went to East Islip High School, then onto University of Maryland to play football. Boomer was drafted in the 2nd rd of the 1984 NFL draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. Boomer played for the Bengals from 1984-1992 & 1997, New York Jets 1993-1995, Cardinals 1996. Boomer was a 4x Pro Bowl Selection and won the 1988 NFL MVP
Craig Carton's career in radio started in 1991.
Boomer and Craig have hosted there radio show since Sept 2007.

There was a decent list of player and Celeb's on the roster to appear.

Jim Leyritz, 1 card. Jim signed as a free agent in 1985 by the Yankees and played 11 seasons in the majors. Yankees 1990-1996, 1999-2000, Angels 1997, Rangers 1997, Red Sox 1998, Padres 1998-1999 and Dodgers 2000
Constantine Maroulis, Jekyll and Hyde Playbill. Constantine was born in Brooklyn and was raised in Wyckoff NJ. Constantine is well known to have competed on American Idol during the 2005 season. He also did some acting before Idol. He was also the frontman for a band named Pray for the Soul of Betty and also appeared on Broadway in Rock of Ages and Jekyll and Hyde
Wally Szcerbiak, 8x10. Wally for NBA player was born in Spain and raised in Cold Spring Harbor. He then played his college basketball at University of Miami at Ohio. Wally was then drafted in the 1st rd, 6th overall in the 1999 NBA draft by the Timberwolves. He played for the Wolves 1999-2006l Celtics 2006-2007, Supersonics 2007-2008 and the Cavaliers 2008-2009
Will Witherspoon, 8x10. Will was drafted in the 3rd rd of the 2002 NFL draft by the Carolina Panthers. The linebacker went on and played for the Panthers 2002-2005, Rams 2006-2009 & 2013, Eagles 2009, Titans 2010-2012
Boomer Esiason, 8x10
Brian Mullen, 8x10 and Generic Hockey Custom. Brian was born and raised in Hell's Kitchen and a  former NHL Hockey player and was drafted in the 1980 draft 128th overall by the Winnipeg Jets. He played for the Jets 1982-1987, Rangers 1987-1991,Sharks 1991-1992 and the Islanders 1992-1993
Benoit Hogue, 2 card and 8x10. Benoit is a former NHL Hockey player who was drafted in 2nd rd, 35th overall in 1985 by the Buffalo Sabres. He played for the Sabres 1987-1991, Islanders 1991-199, Maple Leafs 1995-1996, Stars 1996-1998, 1999 Lighting 1998-1999, Coyates 1999-2000, Bruins 2002 and Capitals 2002
Claude LaPointe, 8x10. Claude is a former NHL Hockey player who was drafted in the 1988 NHL draft, 12th rd , 234th overall by the Quebec Nordiques (Colorado Avalanche). He played for the Nordiques 1990-1995, Avalanche 1996, Calgary Flames 1996, Islanders 1996-2003, Flyers 2003-2004









Others that played in the game were Frank Catalanotto, John Montifusco, Bobby Valentine, and Rick DiPietro.
John Franco, Sidney Rice, Paul LoDuca and Tim Harris were originally on the schedule. But, did not show


I was able to get 11 autographs today, which brings me to 608 for the season
