Last night was games 13 and 14 for me on the season. The Skeeters are in town for a 4 games series. Game 1 of the series was postponed 1 day because the Skeeters couldn't fly out of the Houston area because of a Tropical Storm.
So, last night they played two 7 inning games. Before Game 1 I graphed the Skeeters and was able to get the following
Josh Geer, 1 card. Josh was a 3rd rd pick in 2005 by the Padres. Josh pitched in 2 brief stints in the majors with the Padres in 2008 in 5 games and in 2009 in 19 games. Josh spent 10 seasons in the Padres system before signing with the Skeeters this season
James Parr, 3 cards. James was a 4th rd pick in 2004 by the Braves and pitched in 2 brief stints with the Braves in 2008, 5 games and in 2009 in 8 games. James pitched 10 years in the Braves system before retiring. He then started pitching again in 2014 and split the season in the Atlantic League and the American Association
Kevin Russo, 5 cards. Kevin was a 20th rd pick in 2006 by the Yankees and had a 31 game stint in 2010 with the Yankees. Kevin spent the 2013 season in the Tigers system playing in AAA. But, did not play during the 2014 season.
Delwyn Young, 1 card. Delwyn was a 4th rd pick in 2002 by the Dodgers and played parts of 3 seasons with the Dodgers, 2006-2008 and then 124 games in 2009 with the Tigers and 110 games in 2010 also with the Tigers. Delwyn played for the Phillies AAA affiliate in 2011 and has been in ATL since 2012. He did start the 2015 season playing in Mexico.
Garry Gaetti, 3 cards. Gary was a 1st rd pick in 1979 by the Twins and spent 20 seasons in the majors with the Twins 1981-1990, Angels 1991-1993, Royals 1993-1995, Cardinals 1996-1998, Cubs 1998-1999 and played in 5 games in 2000 with the Red Sox. Gary was a 2x All-Star, 4x Gold Glove winner at 3rd base and won the AL ALCS MVP in 1987 and Gary is currently the Skeeters Manager.
Willy Taveras denied us before game 1. I didn't think he would sign so I graphed the Ducks in between the games and of course Willy signed and I missed him
In between the 2 games I got 2 of my 8x10's signed on the Ducks side.
Nick Struck. Nick was a 39th rd pick in 2009 by the Cubs and spent 4 seasons in the Cubs system getting as high as AAA. He spent the 2014 season in the Dodgers system splitting the season between AA and AAA
Dan Lyons and Reegie Corona on one of my own 8x10's
Next up was a trips to Lakewood for Yoan Moncada and then Brooklyn for the Cyclones home opener. I will post shortly.
Thanks for Reading and Check Back soon
