Flyers @ Islanders

Its been just about 1 month since I graphed my last baseball game and yesterday marked the beginning of the IP Hockey season for me. I did miss 2 saturday games since the beginning of the season due to work.
Yesterday my favorite team the Flyers came to town. So, there was no way I would miss this.
The 2 big Flyers stars, Claude Giroux or Vinny Lecavalier did not walk either before or after the morning skate.
Most of the players didn't make it easy. Most of the players signed as they walk towards the arena.
Both of the Flyers goalies signed. But, it was obvious they were not thrilled with signing. I forgot there 8x10's. and didn't bother chasing them for a logo sheet. They where also giving out crap autographs.
I got the following
Zac Rinaldo, 6th rd pick in 2008 by the Flyers. 8x10
Brayden Schenn, 1st rd pick in 2009 by the Kings. One of the worst NHL autographs I've seen. 8x10
Wayne Simmonds, 2n rd pick in 2007 by the Kings. 8x10
Max Talbot, 8th rd pick in 2002 by the Penguins. 8x10
Matt Read. 8x10
Jacob Vorcuk, 1st rd pick in 2007 by the Blue Jackets. 8x10
Nick Grossmann, 2nd rd pick in 2004 by the Stars. 8x10
Andrej Mezaros, 1st rd pick in 2004 by the Senators. 8x10
Scott Hartnell, 1st rd pick in 2000 by the Predators, Puck
Sean Conturier, 1st rd pick in 2011 by the Flyers 8x10 and a Flyers logo puck signed.
Ian Laperriere, 7th rd pick in 1992 Blues. Played in the NHL from 1993-2010 with the Blues. 8x10 Rangers, Kings, Av's and in 2010 with the Flyers. Currently a coach
Ron Hextall, 1 card. Ron was a Flyers 6th rd pick in 1982. He played goalie from 1987-1999 in the NHL with the Flyers, Nordiques and Islanders before coming back to the Flyers to finish his career.
Currently a coach
Joe Mullen, 1 card. Joe played in the NHL from 1981-1997 with the Blues, Flames, Peguins and Bruins. He was inducted into the NHL HOF in 2000. Currently a coach.
Kimmo Timmonen, 1 card. 10th rd pick in 1993 by the Kings

The following on a Logo sheet
Craig Berube, Recently named Head Coach. Was undrafted and played from 1986-2004 for the Flyers, Leafs, Flames, Capitals and Islanders.
Mark Striet, 9th rd pick in 2004 by the Canadians. Played the last 5 years for the Islanders before being traded in the offseason.
Luke Schenn, 1st rd pick in 2005 by the Leafs. Flyers got Luke in a late season trade. The Flyers sent one time prospect James van Riemsdyk to the Leafs in return.
Erik Gustafsson
Paul Holmgren, Currently the Flyers GM. Paul played from 1975-1985. He played 1975-1976 season with the WHA's Minnesota Fightin Saints. Who ended up folding. He then signed with the Flyers and also played with the Minnesota North Stars who are now the Dallas Stars.
Brayden Coburn, 1st rd pick in 2008 by the Atlanta Thrashers. Who have since moved to Winnipeg
Ian Laperriere.

As far as the Islanders go. It was an optional skate. The only Islander I saw that I had something for was Brock Nelson. I got Brock to sign an 8x10.
Brock was a 1st rd pick in 2010 by the Islanders and comes from strong blood lines on his mothers side of the family. His great uncle Gordon Christian was on the 1956 USA Olympic team that won a Silver Medal. His grandfather Billy Christian and another great uncle Roger Christian both played on the Olympic Gold medal winning team in 1960 and then his uncle Dave Christian played on the 1980 Olympic team that beat the Soviet Union. After playing 2 seasons for the University of North Dakota he was drafted by the original Winnipeg Jets in 1979. He went on and played a little over 1000 games in the NHL for the Jets, Capitals, Bruins, Blues and Blackhawks.

I finished the day with 23 autographs.
The Mullen autograph is a little hard to see in the photo and the Timonen is also hard to see with the blue sharpie on the blue jersey

The Flyers ended up winning and I got to see probably the best fight I've seen live in a along time.
Jay Rosehill and Eric Boulton fought for what seemed forever. But, I think it last about a minute.
Check it out!
