2015 Ducks Home Opener

This past Friday was the Long Ducks home opener. The Sugar Land Skeeters are in town for a 3 game series. This was also my first game of the season.
The promotion for the Home Opener was a Lew Ford Bronze statue. Lew won the 2014 Atlantic League MVP and is currently a player coach with the Ducks

I only got 1 Duck on the night. Tommy Organ was featured in the Autograph booth and had him sign one of my 8x10's
Tommy Organ. This is only Tommy's second year in baseball and started the 2014 season with the River City Rascals of the Frontier League before coming to the Ducks in a mid season trade. In typical fashion Tommy was returned at the end of the season to the Rascals. But, decided to resign with the Ducks for the 2015 season.

On the Skeeters side I got the following
Sean Gallagher, 3 cards. Sean was a 12th rd pick in 2004 by the Cubs. Sean has pitched parts of 4 seasons with the Cubs, A's, Padres and Pirates. He last pitched in the Majors in 2010 when he appeared in the 31 games with the Pirates, Since 2010, Sean has also pitched in the Reds and Rockies and split the 2014 season with the Skeeters and Campeche in the Mexican League
Cory VanAllen, 2 cards. Cory was a 5th rd pick in 2006 by the Nationals. Cory spent 7 season in the Nationals system pitching as high as AAA before signing with the Skeeters in 2014
Denny Almonte, 2 cards. Denny was a 2nd rd pick in 2007 by the Mariners and spent 7 season in the Mariners system getting as high as AAA. Denny split the 2014 season between the Skeeters and Blue Fish
Matt Maloney, 8x10. Matt was a 3rd rd pick in 2005 by the Phillies. Matt has pitched in brief stints during 4 seasons with the Reds and most recently with the Twins in 2012 and has also pitched in the Red Sox system.

This brings my season total to 17 autographs between the Ducks Fan Fest and tonight's game.

I did not stay and graph after the game because it was a little to cold for me. But, wished I had. The next morning I found out the Rafael Palmeiro was in attendance. Rafael's son, Patrick plays for the Skeeters and Rafael was also scheduled to appear at an autograph show in the Tri-State area on Sunday.
It turns out the Palmeiro was also at Saturday's game. But, I was at the Mets game.

Thanks for Reading and Check back soon! I will be posting about the Mets game and today Ducks game shortly/
