Last night was game 11 for me on the year. The Blue Crabs are in town for a 3 game series and last nights game was the 2nd of the series.
The promotion for the game was to come and meet former All-Star and Met player George Foster.
George threw out the first pitch and then signed autographs on the concourse until 8pm.
I had George sign a 50th Anniversary Mets Ball
George played for 18 season in the majors with the Giants 1969-1971, Reds 1971-1981, Mets 1982-1986. The Mets released Geoege in August of 1986 and he signed with the White Sox for the remainder of the season before retiring. George was a 5x All-Star, won the Silver Slugger Award in 1981, the National League MVP in 1977, the All-Star MVP in 1976 and was part of the Big Red Machine in the 70's who appeared in the World Series in 1972, and won the WS in 1975 and 1976
In the Ducks autograph booth was pitcher Ian Marshall who I got to sign one of my 8x10's. Ian was a 40th rd pick in 2010 by the Braves. Ian pitched in the Braves system in 2010 and 2012 before signing with the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in 2013
On the Blue Crabs side I got the following,
Brian Burres,3 cards. Brian was a 31st rd pick in 2000 by the Giants. Brian pitched in the majors with the Orioles 2006-2008, Jays 2009 and Pirates 2010-11 and has also pitched in the Rockies system.
Casey Stevenson, 1 card. Casey was a 25th rd pick in 2010 by the Yankees and reached as high as AAA in 2013.
Antone DeJesus, 1 card. Antone was a 16th rd pick in 2007 by the Cardinals. Played in the Cardinals system till 2010. Since then Antone has played in numerous different Indy Leagues
Fred Lewis 1 card. Fred was a 2nd rd pick in 2002 by the Giants and spent 7 seasons in the majors with the Giants 2009-2009, Jays 2010, Reds 2011 and 18 games with the Mets in 2012. Fred is 1 per and not the most friendliest players in the ATL
Jamar Walton, 2 cards. Jamar was a 4th rd pick in 2004 by the Marlins and has played in the Marlins, Royals and Nationals system reaching as high as Advanced A. Since 2011 Jamar has played in numerous different Indy Leagues
Another sub par night with only 10 autographs. Which brings my season total to 234 autographs
The Ducks go to Bridgeport starting tomorrow night and return on Tuesday for a 6 game home stand starting with the 3 games vs the Skeeters and then 3 games against Bridgeport
