The same night as the Christie Brinkley bottle signing. There was a Rangers Alum Charity game at a local ice rink within a 20 minute drive.
The game featured 8 Rangers Alum, 6 of which played in the game. Ron Duguay, Tom Laidlaw, Steven Valiquete, Brian Mullen, Stephane Matteau, Gilles Villemure, Pete Stemkowski and Chris Kostopoulos. Villemure and Stemkoski coached and did not play.
Since the game was for charity I decided to pay the $50 for a post game autograph session. I figured I wouldn't have to wait late after the game to get autographs.
The game was two 30 minute periods with a 20 minute break. Matteau and Kostopoulos made them selves available for autographs. Matteau signed like a machine. Kostopoulos wondered around almost looking to sign autograhs. But, was not as popular as Matteau.
After the game there was a short wait for the autograph session.
The only Rangers Alum I did not get an autograph was Stempowski, who I had gotten a few months ago.
I was supposed to get 1 autograph per player. But, noticed others were getting multiples. Matteau was the only player to seem to care I got him 3x.
All of the players had over sized cards they signed and handed out. I grabbed a few.
All of the players with the exception of Duguay seemed not to mind signing. Duguay just scribbled when signing and even got up and stopped signing first.
Next up will be another free Rangers Alum signing. Tomorrow night at Empire City the Rangers started holding watch parties and always feature a former player that signs autographs and take pictures.
